Better than all the rest
I love you the best
Better than all the rest
That I meet in the summer
Indian summer
That I meet in the summer
Indian summer
I love you the best
Better than all the rest
Song by Doors
what a nice coincidence! Here are some more Doors! 😀
Grand entry
Door with faux jharokas (window)

Entry way masquerading as a peacock

Entry way masquerading as a peacock
Ornate door in a soothing shade of green

A door as a door is supposed to be…strong!

And a beautiful entry to a humble abode

This was a glimpse into some of the doors as seen in old palaces and forts in India…more towards North India. In upcoming posts, I will also cover doors from other parts of India 🙂

Locks

and maybe a sentry or two if you like hiding treasures…

Thanks for dropping by Sabiha 🙂
These are from Rajasthan and old tombs/forts in Delhi.
They are beautiful, were they taken in Rajasthan?
awesome, awesome, awesome! U r the best bhavna! amazing song amazing doors amazing connect. Loved that lock! and against such an unusual clour too. And those Jaipur doors- one for each season- I could do a study and thesis on each of them separately- what brilliant designers those were- who wrought them with such love.
🙂 Glad you liked the post MA!
I love both of them too Katie! 🙂
What a great post! I love The Doors and your doors!
Heart be still! These doors are evocative and soulful. I especially love the purple one with the intricate lock/latch.
I agree Tara…how so ever well done, a reproduction does not have the ‘feel’ or the ‘experience’ of an original..
Thanks Purple! Good to see you back 🙂
Great images, wonderful doors, so beautiful and fascinating!!
Oh what beautiful doors! I take photos of doors like this whenever I travel – they are so gorgeous and have survived such history! The modern reproductions just don’t have the same patina or look.
Yes, ‘gorgeous’ describes these doors Melissa 🙂 Glad you liked them!
Thanks Affinity 🙂
Thats a super idea Amber…I did not think of using these images in a framed series! Thanks!
Hello Gillian! Isn’t the lock just fascinating!? 🙂
Thanks Kate!…you might remember similar doors from your stay in Asia!
Thanks Patricia! I would actually love to try a DIY with a wooden chest of drawers…maybe with suzani fabric 🙂
