I am road-tripping through the depths of the Eastern Himalayas for a few weeks. I am consulting with WWF India and other regional stakeholders on restoring vernacular residential architecture and converting abandoned old rammed earth and stone houses into beautiful, sustainable home-stays. This will not only support local livelihood and economic growth, but also help preserve the traditional mountain homes, centuries old construction techniques and the unique textiles, arts & crafts of the region. As you can imagine, this project is very close to my heart. My soul love for the mountains, combined with a keen interest in preserving vernacular architecture and traditional design & craftsmanship, makes this work incredibly meaningful to me.
