Deeppura Garh

Time to head to Rajasthan again! A relatively new-old fort, few hours from Jaipur on the way to Bikaner, has been restored to be run as a luxury boutique hotel. This 200 year old fort-haveli was built by the last Maharajah of Sikar, and was found, and bought by well known Italian jewelry designer Maria Grazia Baldan. She fell in love with the stunning frescoes that adorned the then dilapidated Deeppura Garh, and enlisted the help of Belgian architect Philippe de Villegas to restore the original glory of the structure and convert it into a livable abode.
